Charlie Lew is a guitarist and singer who plays in the Hynes Convention Center stop of the MBTA Thursday and Friday nights around 8:30-9PM. He has been a musician since he was in his 20s. He had a 30-year career in the film industry as a camera assistant on small and big budget films.

Now retired, Lew devotes his time to his long-lived passion for music by playing in the T. Lew says he performs for his own enjoyment, but also to make a bit of "salary" money on the side until his pension kicks in.

His distinct blues-esque voice rings throughout the Hynes T stop, drawing in the attention of commuters. He is a huge fan of the rock n' roll music he grew up with and frequently plays songs by The Doors and Johnny Cash. Lew is best known for his rendition of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" Israel Kamakawiwoole.
